Happy Women’s History Month! Kick it off with a week of buzzy Birmingham news

Happy Women’s History Month, Birmingham! Photo via Jacob Blakenship for Bham Now

In case it wasn’t apparent enough already, the Golden Globes reinstated that women rock from jaw-dropping looks to big wins (we’re looking at you, Jane Fonda). We can’t wait to celebrate our amazing female leaders in Birmingham all month long. But first, let’s get you situated with a new job, leadership skills and knowledge about the local business scene.

Who else is making history:
🌟 The COVID-19 vaccine. She’s pretty popular, and popularity brings rumors. The Jefferson County Department of Health put together a helpful guide when it comes to fact vs. fiction for the vaccine

🌟  Birmingham and Hoover. They ranked third nationally for strong, positive small business sentiment. Is it braggy to assume we might’ve had something to do with it?

🌟 Masks. There is no one-size-fits-all box in terms of style or state restrictions. While some states relax or enhance their policies, Alabama’s is due to expire on Friday, March 5 unless extended by Governor Kay Ivey.

Follow the leader 👏

Congratulations to United Ability’s new CEO, Susan Sellers. It’s a big job, but the President of the St. Vincent’s Foundation of Alabama has the shoes to fill it.

Reachin’ recovery 💰

Economic recovery? Yeah, we know her. Despite the financial hardships our city and those around the country faced due to COVID-19, Birmingham ranked high on the list for economic recovery compared to other metros
