Anyone else running exclusively on coffee these days? Let me introduce you to Birmingham’s newest coffee roasters—Cala Coffee Company. Currently, the coffee shop is solely shipping pre-ordered coffee beans, but they have their sights set on opening the very first coffee cart in Cahaba Heights sooner than later.

“The goal of Cala Coffee is to serve our community of Cahaba Heights by bringing people together via coffee – by means of pour over, aeropress & cold brew.

We look forward to community events, private gatherings, weddings & everything in between.

Keep an eye out on their Instagram to see when they’ll be rolling around Cahaba Heights soon.

Something sweet is coming to Mercantile on Morris and we can’t wait. Soon Birmingham will be welcoming Cannella Gelato & Cafe. Everything will be made on site with locally sourced ingredients. The gelateria will bring a taste of Italy to downtown with items like:

  • hand-crafted gelato
  • sorbet
  • full-service coffee bar

Cannella was previously located in Brookwood Mall, but closed due to COVID-19. Now they’re making their comeback in the beautiful Mercantile on Morris development.

We’re so excited for the new Urban Supply project by Orchestra Partners in Parkside. According to the Birmingham Business Journal, there will be two pop-up shops coming to the development in April.

One of the pop-up shops will be Cahaba Cycles, an independently owned bike shop here in Birmingham. You may be familiar with them as they have several locations around the metro area.

The other pop-up will be called Garage Sale that will be bringing a vintage retail concept to Parkside with vinyl records, vintage clothing and even a bar to grab a drink…or two!
