Homewood’s first and one of the newest breweries in the Birmingham area is set to distribute their crafty brews this month through out the Magic City!
My favorite time of the year just got better with the anticipation of yet another Birmingham, AL. festival.
Unlike many events in the Magic City, that simply offer craft brews for purchase, this one revolves around the micro-brewery scene for a fun filled day – in more ways than one 😉
“Think globally. Act locally.”
Words to live by, and you can do just that, on Tuesday, December 6th, 5:30, at the Avondale Brewery by attending the Bham Now BOLD Series featuring Jim McClintock. (purchase tickets here)
UAB world renowned explorer, researcher and author Jim McClintock will be taking the attendees on a virtual tour of Antarctica. He will bear witness to the rapid changes that are occurring in our southernmost continent and the living lab that is disappearing as a result of climate change.
One of the Bham Now BOLD Series special features is the opportunity, for the speaker to choose a charity in which a portion of the proceeds will be donated. McClintock selected Hand in Paw – one of Birmingham’s most amazing and kindhearted organizations. Checkout the slideshow above and the videos about this program that serves nearly 100,000 of our neighbors in the Birmingham region.
It will be a special night globally and locally.
Please join us!

Do you Recycle? Love Soccer and Good People beer? Are you very patriotic and a big supporter of the US Men’s National Soccer Team?
Well, if you answered “yes” on all these questions, the Alabama Environmental Council and Good People Brewing are holding a special event for you.
Since the rise of Avondale, Good People Brewing, and many more, Birmingham has not been the same. Attraction toward downtown continues to rise not only with consumers, but with new businesses being interested in our growth.
Next brewery up, District Brewing Co.
Stop by Black Warrior Brewing Company in downtown Tuscaloosa on October 20th between 4:00pm to 10:00pm for some great beer and learn how you can help improve and protect Alabama’s coastal environment through cooperation, education, and participation.
Twenty percent of all beer sold that night will be donated to the Alabama Coastal Foundation.
Yet another brewery will be opening, to quench the thirst of Birmingham’s beer connoisseurs, on October 22nd!
Raise a glass! Happy 4th Anniversary Hop City!
Hop City turns 4 years old this week and they are going to celebrate in style. Here are the details:
On Sunday, October 2nd, noon to 8:00pm, Hop City will be celebrating with beer (of course), food, bands and kid friendly activities.
Birmingham native and executive director of the Alabama Coastal Foundation (ACF) Mark Berte will be on hand at the Back Forty Brewery in Gadsden this Thursday night, September 29th, 5:00 to 9:00pm for the foundation’s “Connect to Your Coast” tour.
One of the can’t miss events of the Fall, the Cahaba River Frydown.
If you love clean drinking water, the Cahaba lily, and the river that is considered one of the eight most important biological hotspots in the United States by The Nature Conservancy – you need to make plans to celebrate and support the Cahaba River at the 7th annual Fry-Down this weekend! Branding. It’s what turns heads and profits. This Birmingham startup is geared toward doing just that while keeping it local throughout each process.
