Ghost Train Brewing Co. is one of the best known local brewers to hit the Birmingham food and beverage scene. An interesting new stout, Stout Side of the Moon 13.9ABV has been released in nifty four-packs by Ghost Train.
Forget basketball, the most important “bracket” you can fill out today is Garden and Gun Magazine’s Southern Craft Brewery Bracket. And the big matchup today? Birmingham’s own Good People Brewing vs. Southern Prohibition Brewing out of Hattiesburg, Mississppi.
Tonight, as part of Cahaba Brewing Company’s Goodwill Wednesday, the brewery will be previewing a special batch of “Darter Beer” made specifically for the Southern Environmental Center’s upcoming 7th annual Darter Festival on Sunday, April 15 at Cahaba Brewing Company.

The final match-up is upon us. Monday, Jan. 8, the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs are preparing to take on the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide in the College Football Playoff National Championship. It’s sure to be an exciting night across Birmingham. Here are a few places to watch the big game.
When pedal buses such as Birmingham Pedal Tours first hit the streets, the City Council flat out refused to let them drink while riding. The concerns the Council brought up were that the buses would slow traffic to a crawl even without drunk peddlers. This week, City Council members Mike Fliegel and Julie Barnard proposed scrapping that restriction. What does that mean for Birmingham beer enthusiasts?
