UAB President Ray Watts welcomed the largest freshman class ever to UAB, located in southside Birmingham. UAB is breaking out of the commuter school image. Most students live ON campus now, lured by dorms, fraternities, sororities and local social opportunities. Go Blazers!

The vote will go to the public in November after all.
Thursday the bill was dead on the vine in the House. Friday, a second vote was taken and three representatives shifted to the ‘Yes’ side agreeing that the lesser of the evils (gambling versus medicaid shortfall) would be gambling.
If passed, 10% of the proceeds will go to the Education Fund with the remainder going to the General Fund. The first $100M of the General Fund will go to fund Medicaid. How will you vote?
