Registration is now open for the first-ever Indy 5k race Friday, April 5 at the 10th annual Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama. If you’d like to get up close and personal with IndyCar drivers, this is a great chance to do just that! Several drivers plan to lace up their running shoes after racing Friday to take part in the 5k on Barber Motorsports Track.

Founder and CEO Bill Smith announced today he will step down to pursue other entrepreneurial endeavors. Taking his place will be Target executive Kelly Caruso, who most recently served as the vice president of merchandising for the global company.

Calling all booze lovers! Lakeview will soon be home to a unique drinking establishment and distillery. The owners of Dread River Distilling Co. announced this week the distillery will be open for business on 7th avenue this summer. Plans are also in the works to add distillery tours, tasting lounge, VIP room and special events area.
