Reading time: 2 minutes

On Wednesday, April 22, we hit up Facebook to ask our audience this question: What’s the one Bham restaurant you’ll defend forever?
Y’all did not hold back. More than 500 comments rolled in, shouting out everything from longtime staples to spots that closed years ago but still live rent-free in your minds.
Scroll on for which spots made your must-defend list.
Some of your favorite restaurants in the Birmingham area

We asked you to defend your favorites, and some of you took that literally:
“I would go to war over Black Market Grill in a heartbeat ( ◜‿◝ )♡”
Raelien Lepidopteran
Other commenters shared stories from their favorite spots, including one person who was given a second chance at Dave’s Pizza in Homewood:
“They gave me a chance when I was homeless and I was able to work my way off the streets. Great food, family atmosphere and an owner with a heart.”
Stephen Buchanan
