In September 2026, we gave you a sneak peek at Onelife’s state-of-the-art gym coming to Lee Branch. Now, it’s officially open in the former AMC Classic theater and features tons of equipment and amenities.

It features a reformer Pilates studio, cycle studio, STRIKE Boxing studio, indoor saltwater pool and even a recovery area with saunas, red light therapy and hydromassage.

2. The Harrington Pub | Pepper Place

A new bar and restaurant just opened in Birmingham—The Harrington Pub at Pepper Place opened its doors on Oct. 22, 2026, serving up English-style pub food with a Southern twist and handcrafted cocktails. The Harrington Pub has taken up residence in what used to be The Lumbar, which closed in April 2025.

Chef Trenton Tisdale, chef at The Anvil Pub in Lee Branch, is also behind the menu at The Harrington Pub featuring items like fish and chips, chicken tikka, shepherd’s pie and more.

Coffee lovers, there’s a new spot to add to your morning routine. Canceled Coffee Company has officially opened its second location near Hayden and it’s bringing specialty drinks, more food options and a chill spot to hang out.

After the success of Canceled Coffee Company’s first shop in Oneonta in 2025, owners Jake and William Peek decided to keep the momentum going with a second location along AL-160 in Warrior, just outside Hayden. Coffee is obviously the main event, but there are some tasty additions to the food menu, too. The Hayden location offers bagels, croissants and egg bites, plus drink flavors like Creme Brûlée and Cookie Butter.

When a street-facing space opened up on Morris Avenue, the duo leaped at the chance to bring a new retail spot to downtown Birmingham.

The gallery will begin welcoming its first visitors on Thursday, October 29, kicking off a soft opening weekend with the following hours:

We first filled you in on Zozo’s Kitchen back in April, when the Cassimus family announced plans for its new restaurant venture. The Homewood flagship opened in May 2026. Now, a new Riverchase location is taking shape in Hoover.
