BREAKING: Longtime CVS on Birmingham’s Clairmont Avenue is closing
Reading time: 2 minutes
Another popular retail store on Birmingham’s southside is closing on March 14. Say so long to CVS Pharmacy on Clairmont Avenue near Piggly Wiggly.
What we know about CVS closing on Clairmont Avenue
The store has posted a number of signs throughout the store. When Bham Now asked for a comment from management about the closing, they directed us to contact CVS Corporate.
For years, CVS at Clairmont Shopping Center has been a mainstay, along with the Piggly Wiggly and China Moon Restaurant.
Birmingham patrons surprised about CVS closing
The shuttering of the local CVS took patrons by surprise this morning.
“It’s never happy news to lose a business in the neighborhood, so we are sad to hear CVS plans to close. We hope to see a new business move into their location soon, and hopefully one of the great residents of Highland Park can get support for years to come!”
~ Kelly Marshall, Secretary, Highland Park Neighborhood
