It’s the first weekend in August and we are pumped! Why? Because there is an excellent list of events to check out around Birmingham. From Cinderella at Red Mountain Theatre to Art on the Rocks at the Birmingham Museum of Art, here’s what’s ahead, August 5-7.

2. August Party on the Porch

Why go: Grab the fam and head to the porch at Alabama Outdoors in Homewood. There will be tunes from local bluegrass band Mountain Grass Unit, food from 1918 catering, popsicles from Frios Gourmet Pops + drinks from Ferus Artisan Ales.

3. Art on the Rocks

Why go: It’s the perfect way to celebrate a Friday night in Bham. You’ll have the chance to hear Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter + producer Eric Bellinger and can paint alongside Brooklyn-based contemporary artist Rico Gaston. Plus so much more!

4. Market at the Park

Why go: It’ll be a fun-filled afternoon for you and your crew with local vendors, music + a food truck.

5. Market Saturday at The City Center

Why go: It’s the first market Saturday of the month with vendors, music and lots more fun outdoors.

6. The 4th Annual Back 2 School Block Party

Why go: School’s almost back in session. Attend this event for family fun, music + games. School supplies will also be distributed to help with the year ahead.
