Are you thinking about spring cleaning as much as we are these days? We looked inside some Birmingham-area closets to see what treasures we might find. What we discovered made us want to reach out to the designers at Closets by Design of Central Alabama for a better way to store our heirlooms. Keep reading for all the details.
1. Why don’t you hit me with your best shot 🎶

We can’t stop thinking about these insane red Pat Bentar-inspired stilettos Bham Now newsletter producer Sheila McCallum actually wore to an 80s party once upon a time. Can you imagine trying to walk in those after a drink or three? Neither can we. Next time we see her, I, for one, want to see her Pat Benatar impression.
That said, imagine having the perfect locker to store those heels in. A while back we were inspired by the makeover Closets by Design did for Ramsay High School’s basketball team. By storing heels like these in a locker, you won’t have to worry about scrapes, scuffs or breaking a heel.
2. Tonight we’re gonna party like it’s 1999 🚀

Bham Now producer Cecilia Wood‘s ready to party like it’s 1999…while wearing 80s fashion. She can thank her mom for keeping this rad striped shirt from the decade that brought us Princess Diana and shoulder pads.
Can you imagine how much cooler her outfit would be, though, if she had a designer closet chock full of all the right accessories to complete her look? I would pair that shirt with those star platform shoes, myself.
3. A random lizard. Because why not?

We’re not quite sure why producer Patience Itson has a random lizard climbing the walls of her closet. We do know, though, that if she called Closets by Design of Central Alabama, they’d build her a custom entertainment center where she could show that lizard off in style.
Then they’d get to work giving her whole closet a glow-up, but that’s a different story.
4. Traffic or soccer cones?

Whichever they are, we know an organized garage makes a huge difference to everybody’s stress level. Whether you’re looking for fun in the yard or in the great outdoors, having a home for everything makes it easy to play hard when you’re done working hard.

We didn’t really think a story about what we found in our closets would be complete without a couple of cats. Producer Cheyenne Trujillo snapped these adorable kitty cat slippers that she found in her closet. Of course Closets by Design has created the perfect diva closet to showcase your favorite feline.
