What do a local African-American, woman-owned media firm, health-conscious consulting company and healthcare real estate investment trust all have in common? They’re three new partners ready to bring magical, hands-on experiences to The World Games 2021 Birmingham.
Birmingham is looking forward to The World Games 2021. In about 500 days, you’ll be able to experience The Games around the city. It’s an international celebration that the world will be watching.
Local, minority-owned firm chosen to produce the opening and closing ceremonies
The big question was who will produce The World Games 2021’s opening and closing ceremonies? After hearing several pitches from firms around the globe, CEO of The World Games 2021 Nick Sellers and his team were impressed by the local media firm LRY Media Group.

During her pitch, LeRoy had a vision that focused on Birmingham’s heritage. Unlike any of the national companies, LeRoy was able to tap into a homegrown vision drawing on Birmingham’s past and dreams for the future. What better way to showcase the Magic City than to have a Birmingham-based, African-American and woman-owned media firm produce the World Games’ ceremonies?
LRY Media Group is the first company to receive a major contract through the World of Opportunity diversity program will also be heading the production of The World Games Plaza.

Want to dive headfirst into The World Games 2021 festivities? ICON Health is making that possible by sponsoring The World Games 2021 Sports Garden. Here you will be able to interact with athletes from around the world and learn about the sports featured with hands-on activities.
ICON Health’s goal is to promote healthy lifestyles and give us a look into the lives of World Games athletes.

Medical Properties Trust, Inc. announced as Premier Partner
Even your little ones can get involved in the festivities thanks to The World Games 2021 Birmingham’s new partner, Medical Properties Trust, Inc. This Birmingham-based company will be heading the program focused on youth experiences at The Games.
Mark your calendars for this 10-day event and take your kid to The World Games Plaza’s Kid Zone. Who knows? Maybe one day your little one will be one of the athletes representing the U.S!
Medical Properties Trust will also be providing FREE admission to The World Games 2021 for children 12 and under. Wishing you were a kid again? Yeah, me too.

What is the World Games Plaza?
Want to get involved with the excitement of The World Games 2021? I don’t know about you, but I sure do! The World Games Plaza allows you to do just that.
This family-friendly celebration is free and open daily to the public, media and athletes. The Plaza will feature live entertainment, food, sports demonstrations and coverage of sports competitions.
The World Games Plaza will be located at Railroad Park from July 16-25, 2021. Consider this your go-to place for ALL things World Games. It’s like an international block party held right on the Magic City’s front lawn.
