Jobs, jobs, jobs!

Forbes, one of the nation’s most venerable business magazines (102 years old!) is reporting  good news about the Birmingham jobs market for the first quarter of 2020.

According to the Birmingham Business Alliance, the publication included Birmingham in its top 10 most promising job markets based on net employment outlook for the first quarter of 2020, with the Magic City posting a 21 percent net employment outlook for Q1.

The source for the Forbes article on first quarter job market comes from ManpowerGroup North America, a Milwaukee-based global staffing firm that conducts a quarterly Employment Outlook Survey.

The Southeastern United States as a whole is the region with the most promising job market outlook for the start of 2020. In fact,  Chattanooga topped the national list with a 34 percent net employment outlook for Q1.

One additional item of note – Birmingham’s job market does look brighter in the first quarter than Nashville, Atlanta and New Orleans, according to the survey.
