Great news for Bessemer! Bold as a Lion Studios, a locally-owned photography and videography company, has recently opened its own studio in the heart of the city.

2. Tina’s Market | Homewood

Tina’s Market—formerly Teenie’s Take-Home Market in Mountain Brook Village—is moving into the recently-vacated Hero Doughnuts location in Homewood. Stayed tuned to Bham Now for updates.

3. Valhalla Board Game Café | Pelham

After hosting pop-up board game events across Birmingham for years, the folks from Valhalla Board Game Café are now planning to open a permanent spot in Pelham.

4. Subs ‘n Grub | Center Point

Subs N’ Grub is now open in Center Point. Visit for a delicious selection of quality subs and sandwiches made with fresh ingredients. You can also get mouthwatering personal pizzas, too.

Calling all coffee enthusiasts! Santos Coffee, a cherished local coffee spot is set to unveil a new drive-thru outlet on Montclair Road in Birmingham.

Founded by sisters Wendy Padilla-Madden and Katie Ellis, Santos Coffee is a homegrown chain of coffee shops boasting six establishments across the Greater Birmingham area.

Another Birmingham business is bidding farewell. Harvest Roots Kombucha closed its doors on Sunday, March 3. Established in 2020 in the Avondale Mill’s Shopping Center, it was the city’s inaugural kombucha taproom.

Founded by Pete Halupka and Lindsay Whitaker, the shop introduced fermented goods like krauts, kimchi and kombucha to the local community.
