Founded by sisters Wendy Padilla-Madden and Katie Ellis, Santos Coffee is a local brand of coffee shops with six locations in the Greater Birmingham area:

At Santos, each cup of coffee is carefully crafted using beans from the sisters’ farms in Guatemala, which have been in the family for generations.

“In the 1930s, our grandmothers saved the family farms from foreclosure. They pooled their resources, sold some cattle and were able to save the land that they grew up on. That’s the reason we founded Santos Coffee in the first place—as a way to continue their legacy.”

Since its founding in 2019, Santos Coffee has grown its presence in Birmingham without sacrificing the quality they’re known for.

Santos Coffee drive-thru coming soon to Montclair Road

Bolstered by the success of their existing locations, the Santos Coffee team is excited to open a new drive-thru coffee shop in Birmingham. The drive-thru will be located at 1546 Montclair Road between Milo’s Hamburgers and El Cazador.

“We’ve had an eye on Montclair Road for a while, but we’ve had other Santos projects jump ahead due to timing, real estate and other opportunities. We’re very excited to bring this new Santos concept to Birmingham and can’t wait to serve our customers.”

Since the new location will be drive-thru only, the Santos Coffee team is making a few small tweaks to their menu to better serve their customers and ensure the drive-thru moves along efficiently.

“We want to make sure that our guests coming to the drive-thru are able to get the drinks and the food that they want in fast manner. Guests can expect the menu they know and love, with just a few exceptions that we’re still figuring out.”

According to Wendy Padilla-Madden, the Santos Coffee team hopes to open the new drive-thru in the next month, depending on when they receive final permitting from the City of Birmingham.

“Even though we’re growing, we are still small business owners and we are so grateful for the support of our customers. That support has made a huge difference for us, and we can’t wait to support the community with this new drive-thru. Come and try your old favorites at this new location!”
