About City Walk
City Walk Bham is a public park located under Interstate 59/20 downtown. It was first opened during the World Games in 2022 and has become one of Birmingham’s more popular recreation areas ever since.
In close proximity to the BJCC, Protective Stadium, Top Golf and more, CityWalk Bham has become central to Downtown Birmingham fun. Now, it will host UAB football tailgates in 2024.
UAB football tailgates get a new home at CityWalk Bham
UAB Football reached a new era of hype last year when it moved its home games from Legion Field to Protective Stadium. UAB fans have been holding tailgates at the Protective Stadium Complex, but now will have the opportunity to purchase tailgating spots at CityWalk Bham.
The 1.5-mile, 10-acre CityWalk Bham is located a short walk from Protective Stadium, providing fans with a place to park, socialize, eat and drink before home games.
“We look forward to working with UAB Football to leverage City Walk BHAM and add a unique element to the gameday experience.”
Tad Snider, Executive Director and CEO of the BJCC for UAB News
Official plans for tailgates at City Walk are set to be announced by the end of this football season.
