We’re back and more caffeinated than ever with four new businesses that Birmingham can’t miss including a brand-new Homewood coffee shop, Daily Edition. Ready to see why you need to check these out? Let’s go.

1. Half Shell Oyster House | Pelham

Oyster fans, rejoice! Half Shell Oyster house is slated to open in May at Campus 124 in Pelham. We announced the news last July, so we’re excited to see the final product. Some of their top menu items include the oysters (duh), shrimp and grits and crab cakes. Never fear if you’re not a seafood fan—there are more choices than just seafood.

The fifth location of Half Shell Oyster House is destined to become a crowd favorite in Pelham with the whole development booming with new businesses. We’ll be the first to give it a try.

2. Daily Edition | Homewood

Daily Edition
Not only do they serve coffee and pastries at Daily Edition, but the magazine selection is superb. (Ben Johnson / Bham Now)

From the minds of Buka (and also located right next door) comes Daily Edition. This Homewood coffee shop serves up top-notch espresso beverages made in house and delectable pastries from Last Call Baking. There’s no better combination than a cappuccino and a slice of olive oil cake—trust us.

In addition, fashion magazines line the walls of this aesthetically pleasing shop. Feel free to check them out while waiting for a coffee or strike up a conversation with the team—everyone is so friendly.

3. Santos Coffee + Bar | Uptown
