We’re wrapping up October and thinking about all of the best food in Birmingham we ate this month. Here are seven of the yummiest things the Bham Now team ate and drank this month, from hot wings to mouthwatering tacos.

1. The Three Amigos from Uptown Cantina

“The ‘Three Amigos’ is a three-dip appetizer with queso, guac and salsa & chips. The triple combination is so good you can’t help to rotate between the three with each chip. Guac—smooth and fresh. Queso—not too thick and nicely seasoned. Salsa—had just enough spice.”

“If you aren’t team ranch on pizza, keep scrolling! If you are though, you are my people. Post Office Pies’ ranch may be some of the best in Birmingham, not to mention their garlic cheese bread has three of the best things known to man: garlic + cheese + bread. Pizza + Post Office Pies’ ranch = match made in heaven.”

“After trying Dos Hermanos LLC for the first time, I understand why it’s one of Birmingham’s top-ranked food trucks. The chicken and chorizo tacos with perfectly seasoned, with onions and cilantro that added a fresh flavor and burst of crunchy texture. Be sure to load up on both of the salsas they give you—trust me.”

The server at Mayawell said the Chef’s Kiss is the sweetest drink on the menu and while I usually like a mix of sweet and sour, this one was PERFECT for the person who really wants their alcohol to taste more like juice than an alcoholic drink. 10/10 would reccomend.”

7. Bonus—veggie plate from the Greek Festival

“Ironically, the people at the Greek Festival accidentally gave me something that I didn’t order, but it ended up being probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life! The veggie plate included rice, Greek Style green beans, Greek salad, two spanakopites and two tiropites. I also got Kourambethes AKA Greek wedding cookies, for dessert!

Truly, I felt like I was eating a meal while watching the sun set in Greece. It was such an experience that everyone in Birmingham needs to try at least once in their life!”
