1. Bangin’ Breakfast
Breakfast on the go has a whole new meaning around here. Bangin’ Breakfast is Birmingham’s newest traveling breakfast and coffee truck. Check their Facebook page for their daily location and swing by to pick up some of their specialties such as a Waffle On A Stick or a delicious BLT breakfast sandwich. Paired with a cup of coffee, you’d be starting your day off right.
2. Tom Beckbe | Mountain Brook Village
Tom Beckbe, a classic sporting goods and apparel store, is headed to Mountain Brook Village to open their flagship store. Specializing in classic outerwear, hats and field gear for men and women, these pieces are designed to last while keeping you outfitted ‘for the hunt’. Want to shop safely from home? You can still browse online to see their vast selection of products—including one of their bestsellers: the strap vest.
The doors are open now, so make plans to visit if you haven’t already done so. We cannot wait to see all the unique products, and see how Tom Beckbe’s flagship location keeps Birmingham outfitted for the outdoors.
3. Woodlawn Marketplace
If you loved Woodlawn Street Market, you’re going to love this one. Powered by REV Birmingham, a month-long pop up shop is headed to Woodlawn. Yes, you heard that correctly. Woodlawn Marketplace is popping up in SocialVenture’s storefront on 1st Avenue South and will sell local coffee, fresh juice, from-scratch snacks, handmade gifts, and home goods. This all starts September 9 and dissapears October 3, so don’t wait to check it out.
In addition to all the local goodies, REV will include some special events throughout the month— including yoga and meet-the-maker events.
“It is exciting to offer an approachable short-term opportunity for them [our vendors] to explore growing their business in a lower-risk environment. This is also an opportunity for us to bring additional life to one of our vacant storefronts in Woodlawn.”Bekah Fox, Market Coordinator
4. Uptown Cantina
Tacos, tequila and tunes—what else could you want in a Birmingham opening? There’s a new taco destination in town, and it’s located conveniently right in the entertainment district. Make your way to Uptown Cantina, opening this month, for a great Fresh-Mex experience. Their interior looks straight out of a magazine with the fun, bright color scheme for the ultimate “Instagrammable” experience. Stay tuned for opening announcements on their Instagram page.
(P.S—we recommend signing up for their email list for the chance to win free tacos for a year.)
