Birmingham-based app WineView is making wine accessible to all. We’re raising a glass to our new favorite app, and to never choosing a bottle based on how trendy the label is ever again.

Wine. It’s sophisticated, elevates any meal and is the ultimate indulgence. Sometimes, it can also be extremely overwhelming. With seemingly endless varieties, confusing menus and misleading labels, where can you start?

For those of us that don’t want to undertake sommelier school, let me introduce you to your new best friend: WineView.

We headed to Freddy’s Wine Bar to get the scoop on the new app from WineView Founder and CEO, Gary Campbell.

Perfect selections and pairings

Picture this: you’re seated at your favorite Birmingham spot and ready to order their best dish. Then, your meal is taken to the next level when you open WineView and scan the wine list.

You receive customized recommendations based on your preferences, and then your personal, 3D sommelier joins the (virtual) party. WineView is the functional app that makes ordering wine accessible and fun.

Another win for Birmingham’s growing tech ecosystem:

WineView Founder and CEO, Gary Campbell, is thrilled to launch the app in Birmingham.

Although The Magic City was not on his radar initially, once he was exposed to the incredible food and wine scene, Gary (and his Co-Founder Angela Grace Caine) knew it was the perfect home base. Oh, and Birmingham’s booming tech ecosystem doesn’t hurt either.

“The Birmingham tech scene has a big wave coming, and I want our company to be a part of that. From the time we arrived in Birmingham, we met a lot of helpful people in the industry and were very impressed with the collaborative approach. Of course, Birmingham also being a big foodie town is a major plus for us.”

Gary Campbell, Founder and CEO, WineView
