It’s more than a convenience store and it’s more than a gas station. The only way to describe it is by its name—Buc-ee’s. If you haven’t heard yet, your soon-to-be favorite pit stop is coming to Leeds by January 2021. Today, we’ve got a sneak peek of what to expect.
This morning, we took a tour of the 54,000 square foot Buc-ee’s with Stewart Perry’s Senior Project Manager Eddie Cassell, and the one word I would use to describe it is MASSIVE. Construction officially started in November and the place is coming along pretty quickly.
Right now, the closest Buc-ee’s to Birmingham is the Robertsdale location going towards the beach. This one in Leeds will look almost identical—just a lot closer to home.
What makes Buc-ee’s Buc-ee’s?
Besides the fact that you’ll probably always be able to find an available pump for gas, this convenience store offers some things you probably wouldn’t expect like:
A full kitchen that’ll serve food around the clock
A “Texas roundup” station serving fresh barbecue
Another “Texas roundup” station serving handmade fudge
Several different flavors of Icee’s
The cleanest bathrooms on your road trip
Okay. Hear me out on this one. Maybe it’s just me, but a clean bathroom makes a big difference. The last thing you want to deal with while driving is having to figure out where to stop to use the restroom.
Buc-ee’s has large restrooms with a full-time concierge to make sure they’re nice and tidy when you need them. After all, pit stops should be enjoyable.
Let’s not forget features like:
- A section dedicated to hunting and fishing gear
- A section full of home decor
- Buc-ee’s apparel + toys
- A beef jerky wall with every flavor you could think of
- Coffee station with every cream or topping you could wish for
