As calls to the Crisis Center increased and programs like Meals on Wheels pivoted to feed the hungry stuck at home, vital community support from the Junior League of Birmingham stood behind their efforts. Now, we can lend a hand too, by participating in the Shop Save Share event on Wednesday, October 14 through Sunday, October 25—here’s how.
Who are we helping?
100% of the profits from this 12-day event go toward supporting the Junior League of Birmingham’s 40 community projects. By purchasing a $40 Shop Save & Share card, you’re providing necessities for four survivors of sexual violence through the Crisis Center or buying winter coats for two Birmingham City Schools children.
“Shop Save & Share is much more than just a shopping event or a discount card, and this year, that means more than ever.
During a time when many organizations are being forced to cancel and postpone events as a result of COVID-19, we’re taking this as an opportunity to do our part in promoting area businesses to the community while still finding a way to support the 40 community projects these efforts benefit.”
Lauren Globetti, Shop Save & Share Chair, Junior League of Birmingham
Ring me up! How does it work?
For 12 days, shoppers can receive 20% off, exclusive offers and more at over 250 participating businesses when you purchase a $40 Shop Save & Share Card.

Participating businesses include local, designer + everything in between
From premier retailers like Kendra Scott, Vineyard Vines and Kate Spade to locally-owned businesses such as Retreat Day Spa and Ignite Cycle, it’s hard not to find a reason to fill your arms with shopping bags.
When you’re eyeing that Kate Spade purse at 20% off, think of how it’ll become more than an accessory for your next date night. Proceeds from each sale put meals in kids’ backpacks who face food insecurity and provide diapers and wipes for a child in need.
“We make a choice to see the good in every day – in the mirror, in each other and in our communities. When we see the good that’s possible, together, we can create it. We always look forward to our participation with Shop, Save & Share, and it is always to wonderful to give back to our local Birmingham community.”
Kamrie Meyer, Kendra Scott Store Manager
Much more than a sale for these businesses
Although we’re obsessed with the big city vibes Birmingham offers us, one charm we never want to lose is its small-town community feel. Shopping at local businesses like Alabama Outdoors put dollars right back into our community.
“It has been our privilege to be a participating retailer in the Junior League’s Shop, Save and Share campaign for over 10 years. It is one of the ways we support the great work of the Junior League in our community, and our customers love the event and look forward to it each year.”
Scott McCrory, Alabama Outdoors CEO
Over the past 15 years, Shop Save & Share has raised more than $750,000 for the JLB’s community projects. Buying a Shop Save & Share card translates to young ladies in Birmingham’s Girl Scouts Super Troup learning how to become confident leaders and homeless teens having access to warm meals.
Supporting local business is just an extra perk to your purchase
If you’ve lived in Birmingham for even a nanosecond, you know our small businesses love to give back. Even in more-than-unusual times, they continue to show love to nonprofits and other organizations. By participating in the Shop Save & Share event, you’re lending a hand to small businesses who’ve helped so many others.
“The initiative the Junior League of Birmingham has taken to continue this event through difficult times is such a benefit to all of the businesses involved—not to mention the impact it has on their various community projects. At Vino, we pride ourselves on giving back to the community and love partnering with organizations that have a servant heart like the Junior League.”
