Would you like that curbside meal with a side of… toilet paper? Birmingham restaurants are getting creative with their offerings right now, and we’re on the lookout. Check out these 6 local spots that are offering more than your typical to-go orders.

First Things First

Small businesses (especially restaurants) are getting hit hard right now. Bham Now loves eating local almost as much as we love using our platform for good. We’ve put together a master database where local businesses of all shapes and sizes can be featured for free. Same with nonprofits! All you have to do is fill out the form below.

Join over 450 local businesses and over 80 local nonprofits that have already signed up. We’ll be putting out guides like this one that pull from the databases, so don’t miss out!

1—Baumhower’s

We know you’re going out to get your curbside wings and fries. While you’re picking them up from Baumhower’s, you can get your grocery shopping done as well.

They’re offering grocery staples like meat, dairy, rice/bread, sauces, PLUS beer and wine. Oh, and did we mention toilet paper? Truly your one-stop shop here, people.

2—SoHo Social

This Homewood favorite is serving us some delicious food, but that’s no surprise. They also have a few unique options like groceries-to-go and freebies on your order. You can purchase toilet paper for $1/roll, as well as milk by the gallon and eggs by the dozen.

If you pick up more than 2 takeout items, you may find a free dessert + bonus roll of toilet paper in your bag. Whether the dessert makes it home, well—that’s up to you. Pro tip: don’t leave without the gouda grits.

3—Village Tavern

Could this be the ultimate quarantine kit? Not only is Village Tavern offering 50% off wine and family meal deals for 4—they’re giving you some serious bang for your buck.

$80 get you 2 ribeyes OR 2 filets, 1 bottle of red wine, 1 dozen eggs, 6 burgers, 4 marinated chicken breasts, 4 baked potatoes, 1 lb. of butter, fresh dessert of the day AND 1 roll of toilet paper.

4—Taziki’s

Taziki’s signature mediterranean food is a common sight in my apartment. It’s fresh + much healthier than a lot of “fast food” options. They have popular family meal deals that you can get via delivery or curbside pickup.

Right now, they’re also offering new “fruit bags” that include apples, oranges, a bag of grapes, and other seasonal berries that may include blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, for $15. This is part of the new “Taziki’s Market” initiative which will be expanded to include veggie bags and à la carte itens like fresh proteins and more.

5—Big Bad Breakfast

I don’t know what day it is anyway, so I’m pretty sure normal meal times have no rules anymore. Breakfast for… lunch? dinner? snack? Or maybe all 3? We won’t tell.

Big Bad Breakfast is serving up their always-delectable meals, but they’re also offering grocery staples like milk, eggs, bread, raw proteins and more—not to mention toilet paper by the 4-count.

6—Sol y Luna

Sol y Luna is certainly one of our favorite local spots here at Bham Now. In addition to their drool-worthy menu, curbside cocktail kits, and more, they opened a pop-up store.

They have a ton of offerings including everything from bread, tortillas, meat and desserts to disinfectants, gloves, toilet paper and paper towels. You can get what you need, and maybe an extra few tacos you don’t.
