Starting today through Saturday,August 10th, St. George Catholic Church is presenting the Middle Eastern Food Festival.
This event is free for everyone. Bring your family and friends to enjoy the different varieties of food and delectable desserts. From Kibbee Sandwiches to Baklawa, you’ll get the chance to try authentic international cuisine.
Each day there will be Middle Eastern dancing along with other cultural presentations. Live Music will be on Friday and Saturday night. Come check out the booths and events and share in their culture and fun.

Thanks to these Birmingham restaurants, brunch has become the highlight of many of our weekends, especially with their Mimosa deals. Mimosa fans know the key to a good brunch involves a few friends, great food and a couple of their favorite drinks. Check out these great places to satisfy your brunch craving and be sure to treat your self while you are there.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham has been approved by the National Science Foundation as a research center. They are enlisted with the focus to develop innovative solutions to issues challenging our health care system. This honor is only designated to six universities in the United States. UAB was selected amongst one other site this year.
“The approval by the NSF is a glowing testament to the strength of our two Schools’ research excellence, as well as the commitment and support of our industry partners located across Alabama and Louisiana,” said Robert Weech-Maldonado, Ph.D., co-director of the UAB CHOT, professor and L.R. Jordan Chair of Health Administration. “I am excited to see how much we will accomplish together with this combination of UAB’s academic rigor and the health care industry’s access to resources.”
Other industry partners are Alacare, HealthSouth, Lakeshore Foundation, Our Lady of the Lake Health System as well as the UAB Health System.

If you love craft beer as much as the rest of the Bham community, you will be excited to hear that the newest brewing company is coming to Homewood, AL. Located on Central Ave, next to Little Donkey, Octane and Steel City Pops, this venue has a lot to offer.
Earlier today, they introduced three beers: A Pound a Brown Mild,
Gangsta Rap Friday West Coast IPA, and
Their focus will be session beers so you can enjoy a night out responsibly. After all of their hard work, they are hoping September will be their month for grand opening.
Birmingham’s brewery scene is steadily growing with this new addition.
