3. Movies at Avondale Park
- What: Catch a free film screening in the great outdoors this weekend at the second showing of Movies at Avondale Park. This week’s movie is A League of Their Own, and live music will be performed by Girls Rock leading up to showtime. 4. Hop City Oktoberfest
- What: Throw on your lederhosen and prove your strength at the Hop City Oktoberfest, where seasonal beers and friendly competition are in no short supply. Join an official Alabama Stein Hoisting qualifying competition, meaning the winner will advance to compete in the state stein hoisting championship. Tip: register early to keep your stein and take home a commemorative Bavarian hat pin while supplies last.

6. Take Back the Day, Free Community Concert
- What: Take Back the Day is more than just a concert—it’s a way for us to remember, honor and show support for those affected by the attacks on September 11, 25 years ago. Donations are encouraged to benefit the American Legion Post 205, serving veterans and their families in the Trussville-Clay area. Musical guests include Elvis tribute artist Rob Langford, Aretha Franklin tribute artist Kim Harmon and more.
