2 new businesses + 4 coming soon in Birmingham this week

It’s a new week in the Magic City, and that means a new roundup of businesses popping up across town.
From a new grocery store in Birmingham’s Titusville neighborhood to a new authentic Chinese restaurant in Homewood, here are two new businesses and four upcoming openings that should be on your radar.

1. Carver Jones Market | Titusville
The highly-anticipated Carver Jones Market opened on Wednesday, Sept. 2 at in Birmingham’s Titusville Community. Located in the Heritages Parks Townes Center at 873 Dennison Avenue Southwest, the new grocery store includes:
- Fresh fruits, vegetables and meats
- Citizen’s Express Pharmacy
- A coffee shop
- A workforce training center
- A community conference room space for meetings up to 20 people

2. Foo Hai Handmade Noodles & Dumplings | Homewood
Foo Hai Handmade Noodles & Dumplings, a new concept from the founders of Urban Hai in Midtown Atlanta, officially opened in Homewood, Alabama on Sept. 2. Located on the corner of 29th Avenue South and 19th Street South in Homewood, Foo Hai serves up authentic Chinese dishes like:
- Scallion pancakes
- Sweet + sour pork ribs
- Sichuan dandan beef
- Braised chicken hot pot
- Brown sugar rice cakes

Coming Soon
1. Yummy Bowl | U.S. Highway 280
Yummy Bowl Mongolian Stir-Fry & Sushi, the popular restaurant known for its “Build Your Bowl” specials, is opening a second restaurant in the Birmingham-metro area this coming fall. According to staff at Yummy Bowl’s original location in Homewood off Lakeshore Parkway, the new Yummy Bowl is scheduled to open in late October within the River Ridge Shopping Center at 4606 U.S. Highway 280.

2. Coca-Cola UNITED’s new campus | Kingston
A little over two years since the groundbreaking, Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED Inc. (UNITED) is getting ready to open its brand-new, state-of-the-art campus in Birmingham’s Kingston neighborhood. Designed by Williams Blackstock Architects and constructed by Brasfield & Gorrie, the new campus is highly visible from I-20/59, will create 50 new jobs (in addition to the 750+ people currently employed by Coca-Cola UNITED in Birmingham) and features multiple nods to the company’s 125-year history in Birmingham.

3. Providers General Store | South East Lake
A new general store is coming to Birmingham’s South East Lake neighborhood! Located at 8039 Rugby Avenue in the former Ruffner Relics space, Providers General Store is set to open in November and will include:
- Local produce from Greater Birmingham micro-farms
- Locally made soaps, candles, crafts and other goods
- Pantry items and groceries
- An eatery called Humble Pie Cafe, serving up coffee, breakfast and lunch

4. Harper Hills Collective | Vestavia Hills
Harper Hills Collective, a warehouse-style antique and home decor shop originally located in Moody, is opening in a new location in Vestavia Hills on Thursday, Sept. 10. Inside, guests will find an ever-changing mix of antiques, vintage finds, home decor, tableware, collectibles and more.
The store is celebrating its Sept. 10 grand opening with giveaways, prizes and more—and did we mention that the first 25 guests in line will receive a $50 gift card?

1. Kirkland’s Home | Trussville
Home goods and decoration chain Kirkdland’s is closing the doors on its Trussville location for good on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Located at 5474 Patrick Way, Birmingham, AL 35235, Kirkland’s Trussville is having a store-wide 50% off sale to clear inventory leading up the closing.
