6 new businesses in the Birmingham area this week

It’s a new week in The Magic City, and that means a new roundup of businesses popping up across town.
From a new cult favorite coffee shop coming to Birmingham to a custom hat shop at The Summit, here are six businesses that should be on your radar.

1. Rancher Hat Bar | The Summit
A custom hat shop has opened its doors at The Summit! Ranch Hat Bar was founded in California in 2023 and has now expanded to 11 states, including right here in Alabama.
The store offers more than 100 hat styles and colors, with the option to customize with bands, ribbons, charms, pins, monogram branding and more. Their hats have been seen on stars like Miranda Lambert and Benson Boone.

2. Dutch Bros Coffee | Alabaster

Dutch Bros, the nationally popular coffee drive-thru with a cult-like following, has opened in Alabaster. The much-anticipated location at 544 1st Street N is the first in the Birmingham-metro area and eighth statewide.
Founded in 1992, Dutch Bros is known for its friendly, high-energy service and countless drink options from espresso drinks to energy drinks and “Dutch faves”.

3. Icon Birmingham | Five Points South

After a little over a month since it was first announced, Icon Birmingham—a new bar founded by the owner of Tuscaloosa’s only gay bar—just opened its doors in Five Points South.
Owned by Kyle Richardson, Icon is known for its drag shows, themed dance nights and welcoming, inclusive environment. Icon Birmingham is located in the Pickwick Place retail center in Five Points South. According to Richardson, the new Icon is nearly four times the size of the original Tuscaloosa location—and that’s not counting the new Icon’s kitchen, which will offer pizza, wings and other classic bar food favorites.

4. Visual Feast Art Gallery | Hoover

A new art gallery in Patton Creek Shopping Center in Hoover is now open and seeking up-and-coming artists to join its gallery community.
Visual Feast Gallery is the manifestation of 78-year-old abstract artist Rose Cook’s lifelong dream. The gallery features a curated selection of Cook’s original abstract art, handmade jewelry, vintage finds and more. The space also offers art classes, creative workshops and small gallery rentals.

5. Full Circle Donuts | Homewood

Hero Donuts founder Wil Drake is bringing back the original shop he established after the Pihakis Restaurant Group closed the chain. Drake made the announcement on social media earlier this week, issuing an appeal for bakers, line cooks, baristas and cashiers.
The new name for the shop is aptly called “Full Circle Doughnuts” and will feature fun additions like free coffee for first responders, a chalkboard with neighbor news and 5% of every Sunday’s sales donated to local nonprofits. In addition to Wil Drake’s famous doughnuts, Full Circle will also offer burgers, shakes and breakfast.

6. Joseph’s Table | Pelham
Joseph’s Table, a locally-owned authentic Mediterranean restaurant in Birmingham, suddenly closed its Chelsea location last year after 20 years in the Birmingham Metro area.
Soon, it will be reopening in Pelham at North Pelham Square right next to Pub 261 with all the same favorites including roasted lamb, gyros and chicken kabobs.
