It’s the start of another beautiful week in Birmingham and we’re excited about some awesome new openings—from a highly-anticipated restaurant to a woman-owned piercing shop. Let’s dive into the news.

1. Slice Pizza & Brew | Edgewood

Slice Pizza & Brew, a beloved Birmingham original, is expanding to Homewood’s Edgewood neighborhood with its grand opening on Wednesday, March 27 at 11:00 AM. This marks the fifth Slice Pizza & Brew location in the Birmingham Metro Area.

2. Frothy Monkey | Edgewood

Frothy Monkey, an all-day cafe, is set to open its second location in the Birmingham metro area this week on Tuesday, March 26. The new establishment will be in the Edgewood neighborhood of Homewood, specifically at 930 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, 35209.

3. Miracle Pizza Co. | Avondale

Exciting news for Avondale! Miracle Pizza Co. and Avondale Brewing Co. are excited to announce the opening of a new restaurant concept, Miracle Pizza Co., in the former Post Office Pies location in the Avondale Business District.

4. Culinary Dropout | The Summit

Culinary Dropout, the highly-anticipated restaurant developed by James Beard-nominated restaurateur Sam Fox, is now open at The Summit. In addition to the great food, the bar is equipped with TVs and a substantial selection of “Dropout” cocktails and draft beers.

5. Rowan | The Summit

Coming this April to The Summit is Rowan, a woman-owned piercing shop situated between Free People and Anthropologie. Rowan’s mission, as per its website, is “piercing for all, by licensed nurses.”

Their team of trained nurses provides piercing services for all ages and ear placements, offering a variety of jewelry options.

6. Current Charcoal Grill | Parkside

Adam Evans, James Beard winner and head chef at Automatic Seafood, is launching a new restaurant in Birmingham called “Current Charcoal Grill.” Situated near The Fennec and Railroad Park, the establishment will celebrate the diverse flavors, ingredients and techniques of Asian cuisine.

7.Outback Steakhouse | 20 Midtown

Get ready for a steak and a Bloomin’ Onion in downtown Birmingham. Only a few blocks from Railroad Park, UAB Hospital and the Birmingham Green, the new Outback Steakhouse is set to open Tuesday, March 26.
