Celebrate your roots in style. Nappy Roots: A Transatlantic Story of Hair, Struggle, and Liberation is inspired by Kerry James Marshall’s School of Beauty, School of Culture.

In collaboration with the BMA and interculturalist & naturalista Bettina Byrd-Giles, this incredible work honors the CROWN Act of 2022, which prohibits discrimination based on hairstyle or texture.

This exhibition is a joyful ode to self-expression and the power of owning your unique style.
