Last fall, we reported that a popular steakhouse chain was coming soon to downtown Birmingham.

Outback Steakhouse announced it is gearing up for its grand opening on Tuesday, March 26 at 4PM at 425 20th Street South.

What to expect

Clocking in at a massive 6,650 square feet, Outback has big plans for the redesigned restaurant, including:

  • Ample dining space that can accommodate nearly 200 guests
  • Large, centrally located bar inspired by the Great Barrier Reef
  • Reimagined interior with vibrant murals + artwork

“Outback is all about bringing people together and this location offers ample space for our guests. With over 6,600 square feet of space, a bar inspired by the Great Barrier Reef, new back-of-house technology and vibrant artwork, we can’t wait to welcome our first guests.”

Located on the ground level of 20 Midtown across from Publix, Outback will welcome its first customers on Tuesday.

Grand opening festivities + charity event

As part of its community partnership program, Outback will be donating $5,000 of proceeds from opening day to Sleep in Heavenly Peace. This local organization is dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need.

Outback will host a charitable ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30AM on Wednesday, March 27. At the ribbon-cutting event, guests will have the chance to receive free merchandise and participate in giveaways, including the opportunity to win free Outback Steakhouse for a year.

“The team is very excited about our partnership with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, where up to $5,000 of proceeds from opening day sales will support their mission. At the Ribbon-Cutting event this Wednesday starting at 10:30 a.m., guests will have the chance to win free Outback Steakhouse for a year by signing up for our Dine Rewards loyalty program.

Additionally, there will be free Outback merchandise including cups, koozies, sunglasses and free appetizer cards while supplies last for those who come out and celebrate. We can’t wait to see everyone there!”
