Rodney Scott’s BBQ closes in Avondale, announces plans for new locations

On November 26, Rodney Scott’s BBQ in Avondale celebrated its last night of service before closing permanently. According to an announcement from the restaurant, the Avondale location will be merging with the Homewood location.

Rodney Scott’s expanding in 2024
In the announcement posted to Facebook and Instagram, the restaurant revealed plans for four new locations. The first of which, Rodney Scott’s Nashville, will open early 2024 inside Chief’s, Eric Church’s six-story bar and event space.
Rodney Scott’s BBQ has confirmed plans for upcoming restaurants in these locations:
- Hoover, AL
- Valley Post Development in Shelby County, AL
- Miami, FL
- Nashville, TN
The Pihakis Restaurant Group, which manages Rodney Scott’s BBQ, Little Donkey, HERO Doughnuts and several other local eateries, has plans for the former Avondale location that have not yet been announced.
