Don’t miss John Paul White in Birmingham

We recently reported that WorkPlay—a mixed-use event venue with multiple stages, a recording studio, a bar, several office spaces and more—was purchased by new owners with a plan to build on the special legacy.

Since October, the new owners have been hard at work to “enact a comprehensive modernization project throughout the entire facility.”

A few new additions you can expect to see include:

  • A bigger + updated bar open all week long
  • A new outdoor patio area, complete with furniture + string lighting
  • A second bar to support special events
  • Reupholstered + replaced seats in the main theater
  • Remodeled offices

According to the owners, renovations should be complete by January 2024.
