Vapor Thrift Store opened its newest Birmingham-area location Thursday, Sept. 17, at 3730 Mary Taylor Road in Trussville. It’s the first custom-built store for Vapor Ministries, the Sylacauga-based nonprofit behind the thrift stores.

What to know about the new Vapor Thrift Store in Trussville

The 15,000-square-foot store sits next to Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, just off U.S. Highway 11.

It joins four other Vapor Thrift locations in:

Vestavia Hills
Greystone
Westover
Pell City

Shoppers can find second-hand apparel, décor and more. Donation drop-off and pickup are available.

Where Vapor Thrift Store proceeds go

Store sales and donations fund Vapor Ministries’ outreach centers in Haiti, Kenya, Sierra Leone and Togo, which provide clean water, food, health services and education. Chief Business Officer David Johnson said the shopping experience is part of the mission:

Vapor Ministries’ 2031 plan for more thrift stores

Vapor Ministries hopes to open two more thrift stores by 2031. The ministry also plans 16 outreach centers across East Africa, West Africa and Haiti.
