Big Doon’s BBQ truck opens brick-and-mortar location in Hueytown

After nearly three years of running their successful barbecue operation out of a truck, Big Doon’s has opened a brick-and-mortar location. Known for their ribs and loaded fries, Big Doon’s opened for business in Hueytown on November 4.

Big Doon’s is a family operation—owned by Donald and Erica Bland, the truck was named after their son, whose nickname is “Doon”. The couple opened the food truck in 2020, making stops all around the Birmingham and Bessemer area and gaining a following of loyal customers.

Three years later, they’ve finally found a spot to make their home. Big Doon’s celebrated their grand opening November 4 at their new location in Hueytown.

“Grand opening was a success! Thank you to everyone that came out and those who thought about coming but couldn’t make it. We appreciate each and every one of y’all. Big Doon’s BBQ restaurant will be open Tuesday through Saturday 11AM-7PM.”
