Ladybird Taco is now open + 4 other new and coming soon businesses
Happy hump day, Birmingham. We have some exciting openings and businesses coming soon in the lineup today! Keep reading for all the deets on the new Ladybird Taco in Lane Parke and a fresh floral shop in Gardendale.
1. Ladybird Taco | Lane Parke
The Nashville taco hotspot, Ladybird Taco, has made its way to The Magic City. Birminghamians may be familiar with Ladybird from one of their many pop-ups at coffeeshops such as Cala Coffee, but the brick-and-mortar restaurant is now open for biz. From coffee and breakfast tacos to mouthwatering queso, they truly have it all.

2. Gardendale Floral Co | Gardendale
Gardendale Floral Company held its grand opening in early February. The owners are thrilled to be open and serving the community.

3. Baba Java Coffee | Montevallo
According to the Shelby County Reporter, Hoover’s Baba Java Coffee opens a second location in the old Strand Coffeehouse building in Montevallo, which closed in December 2022.
“Baba Java Coffee is passionate about excellence from farm to cup. We make all of our syrups here in our warehouse in Pelham and there are two people on our team who create special, seasonal flavors.”

4. Eddie Kane’s Catering food truck
Whether you are catering for a special event or wanting to try out a new food truck, we recommend Eddie Kane’s Catering. Here you’ll find a rotating menu with items that includes seven types of egg rolls, loaded bakers, barbecue ribs, crack mac, loaded polish sausages, lamb chops and more. There will also be special menus like Lamb Chop Wednesday and Soulful Sundays.
Eddie hopes to graduate to a brick-and-mortar restaurant in the future.
5. Cantina Tortilla Grill | West Homewood
After a four-year absence, Cantina Tortilla Grill— the sister restaurant of Sol Y Luna—is opening a new location at the former Little London Kitchen. The menu will be similar to the original but with a few new additions and larger plates.
