3. Celebrate 100 years of the Junior League of Birmingham 🎉
Even if you aren’t a member of the JLB, you’ve probably been impacted by it thanks to the work each member does to support local nonprofits and organizations.
The JLB kicked off its 100th year with a 100 Acts of Service campaign from January to April and celebrated its investment in the future of Birmingham with a scholarship reception.
“The impact the Junior League of Birmingham has had on our community over the past 100 years is definitely worth commemorating. This gala is not only to honor our past as an organization, but to also encourage another 100 years of service. The Junior League’s mission of improving the lives of those in our community include organizations and partners in areas such as safety, crisis recovery, health and wellness, economic security, financial stability, education and culture.”
Martina Winston, President, Junior League of Birmingham
Want another glimpse at the impact? In the last league year, the JLB gave more than $400K in direct contributions to local nonprofits and JLB members volunteered 40,000 hours.
