1.7-mile Inverness Greenway/Valleydale trail is complete

What’s happening: After 13 years of construction and planning, the Inverness Greenway is complete. The trail, which consists of 1.1 miles of an 8-10-foot concrete pathway and .6 miles of 10-12-foot asphalt path, connects the surrounding neighborhoods along Valleydale Road and Inverness Parkway.

Why it matters: The trail promotes the use of a different mode of transportation when walking between surrounding neighborhoods and parks. It also encourages recreational activities like cycling and running. Find the trail at 272 Inverness Parkway, Birmingham, AL 35242.

Electra Film Lab opens soon in Birmingham

What’s happening: For the first time in years, Birmingham is getting a professional film lab thanks to local photographers Jake Patrick and Jordan Higgins. Although no opening date is set, Electra Film Lab hopes to open and begin services in the near future.

Why it matters: Electra Film Lab offers development and scanning services that are hard to come by in today’s digital age. Film photography has been rising in popularity and the lab allows for a more cost- and time-effective process to get your film photos developed.

Lady E’s Chick’n Cafe is under new ownership + considering relocation

What’s happening: Popular chicken shop Lady E’s Chick’n Cafe has been purchased by Sosa Restaurant Partners and may be relocating. Andrea Parker of Parker & Associates, and now part-owner of Lady E’s, said they’re looking for a second-generation restaurant building to potentially relocate to.

Why it matters: Lady E’s Chick’n Cafe was one of the buzziest openings this year with over 100+ guests in attendance and customers returning ever since. Under new ownership, Lady E’s will continue to serve favorites such as their 24 karate gold wings and cajun fries and you can still visit their original location under the same operating hours.

Tributary Rise just had a big grand opening complete with pool, gym + more

What’s happening: Phase II of luxury apartment complex Tributary Rise is officially complete and hundreds of guests were in attendance for the grand opening. With deluxe amenities like a co-working space, gym, clubhouse and more, you need to check it out for yourself.

Why it matters: Phase I of Tributary Rise already impressed locals with its ideal nature-filled location by The Summit. With Phase II now complete, residents have all they need to live the Tributary Rise lifestyle. The best part? Currently, all amenities are included in the rent.
