Birmingham, it’s a new week and month, which means we have some exciting businesses opening. From tasty bites to cheers-worthy margaritas to clothing stores, here are nine businesses we’re excited to visit in The Magic City.

1. Craft’s Chicken | Mountain Brook

2022 will end right with the opening of this yummy spot in December. Started by the O’Neal family, Craft’s has been a staple in Crestline Village. The second location will be across from The Waites in Southside on Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd.

My BFFs and I always go for the hot honey chicken wrap—it’s the perfect bite for lunch. If a little spice isn’t your thing, don’t worry. There’s just about everything on the menu, including wraps, bowls, mac and cheese, quesadillas and salads.

2. Adios Bar | Downtown

Words can’t express how excited I am for this one—I’m a marg girl through and through. Of course, every good margarita starts with Mexican-made tequila. Adios Bar will be home to Mexican-made-and-grown spirits, ingredients, music and decor.

Created by the owners of Unos Tacos and The Ono Poké, Adios Bar will be opening its doors in The Dagny soon. Adios Bar announced on Instagram that they’re hiring and were just approved to operate, so be sure to follow them for an official opening date.

3. Massage Oasis | Gadsden

It’s time to wind down and relax. Massage Oasis just opened across from the Gadsden Country Club. Founder and Licensed Massage Therapist Lori Vinson is bringing her A+ knowledge to help you relax and maintain your health. She graduated from Gadsden State Community College’s massage therapy program and has a bachelor’s in health and wellness from Ashford University.

Some of the ways you can unwind include a deep tissue massage, hot stone massage, relaxation massage, reflexology, sports massage, tension relief massage and trigger point therapy.

4. Sonic Drive-In | US Hwy 280

Your midnight snack cravings are about to be filled—you know I’m looking forward to a milkshake from this new Sonic location. Taking over the prior location of Joe’s Crab Shack, Sonic will be a go-to spot for drivers on US highway 280 to stop at.

5. The Balancing Point | Irondale

Prepare to relax on Sunday, October 9 at The Balancing Point’s opening. Specializing in acupuncture, this new office will still have the same all-star team.

Wondering how you can finally get rid of that sore back? Try out their acupuncture or Chinese herbal medicine to finally feel relief.

6. Grateful Lotus Clothing & Gifts | Helena

Owner Macie is making everyday outfits for women cute and stylish. I’m talking about overalls, floral tops and flared pants.

She’s been selling at farmer’s markets and pop-ups, but is ready for her own store. Get ready to shop until you drop on Saturday, October 15.

7. Gallery Monier | Homewood

Art lovers, we know of a new spot for you. Monier Emaish, owner of Saxx Hair Design in Homewood, just opened his own art gallery. Inspired by his childhood wonder of watching his older brother paint, Monier now creates his own breathtaking oil paintings.

His creativity ranges from oil paintings of landscapes and portraits to abstract sketches to woodwork and design. We bet you’ll find a piece you’ll want to hang up in your home for everyone to see.

8. Kemp’s Kitchen and Golden Rule BBQ | Trussville

Trussville, turn that frown upside down. Kemp’s Kitchen and Golden Rule BBQ are coming back to town under one roof. These are two beloved restaurants in Trussville. In fact, Golden Rule BBQ is one of Alabama’s oldest running restaurants, going all the way back to 1891.

The plan is to open on Thursday, December 1—we’re counting down the days.

“We are super excited to be part of the Entertainment District and completely back in Trussville. We are rebuilding from the ashes and coming back better than ever.”
