Homewood favorite Greenhouse is opening a new location downtown—learn more
Reading time: 2 minutes
Greenhouse, the Homewood spot known for its delicious salads, soups, sandwiches and cookies (seriously, the cookies are AMAZING!), will soon open a new location downtown. We caught up with the Greenhouse team for all the scoop.
Greenhouse will open downtown
The new location will be conveniently located near UAB in Southside on 19th Street South, a few doors down from the popular Falafel Cafe. According to the Greenhouse team, it will be heavily catered toward “grab and go” options, so folks working downtown can dash in and grab a fresh meal.
Don’t worry, their original location on Oxmoor Road isn’t going anywhere.
When will it open?
Soon! The Greenhouse team told us they are sorting out a few electrical things at their new location, and can’t wait to open the doors.
Keep an eye on their Instagram page for updates.
“We’re so excited to bring a Greenhouse to the UAB area. We will serve the full menu and the new shop will focus more heavily on grab and go items to feed the busy downtown community. Ya’ll stay weird: we’ll be there soon!”
—Bray and MC Britton, Owners, Greenhouse
What to order
Haven’t made it to the Homewood location yet? Allow me to offer a few recommendations. They have a number of delicious salads, including Cobb, Caesar and the option to build your own.
For sandwiches, they have everything from Cubans to Bahn Greens (their take on a Bánh mì), plus grilled cheese and chicken salad. Don’t skip their soup or smoothies and ABSOLUTELY do not miss the “Ridiculous” Cookie. It lives up to the hype, every time.
What will you order first? You can view the full menu on their website.
