Coming soon… the popular Spring Plant Sale! (Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens)

Want first dibs at FBBG’s popular Spring Plant Sale? Members-only access is Friday, April 8, a full day before the sale opens to the public.

So, if you want to be sure you get your hands on the freshest gorgeous spring plants like camellias, azaleas, hydrangeas, Japanese maples and more, you’ll definitely want early admission to the sale.

4. Rock some serious swag

Did we mention the gifts? Because there are some pretty sweet gifts included in your membership.

When you become a member of the Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens, you’ll receive a snazzy membership card and FBBG swag of choice based on your membership level (shown above—while supplies last!). Plus, you’ll also receive a complimentary gift plant at the annual Fall Plant Sale.

5. Support a local organization that gives back to our community

The Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens give back to the greater Birmingham community in a number of ways. That means your membership will have a rippling effect on serving our community.

One of my personal favorite initiatives is the Friends’ work with the Kingston Coalition and Richard I. Pigford Memorial Teaching Farm. The Friends donate plant materials and supplies such as fertilizer, tools and tomato cages for the use of student and community volunteers at the community garden.

Through services like this (and many other projects), their overall goal shines: “to serve the Gardens, serve the community, serve our visitors and inspire a passion for plants, gardens, and the environment.”
