Celebrating 28 years of serving Birmingham

Whether you’re looking for cozy sectionals or you’re one of the employees who’ve been with the company for over 20 years, you’re probably familiar with La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries of Birmingham.

Their story begins 28 years ago, when the Morris family got the opportunity to open the business in Birmingham. Curt Morris, his father and his brother worked together to make the business a company that puts family first. A room full of recliners quickly became a thriving family company that truly supports local.

La-Z-Boy’s staying power, especially after the struggles of 2020, is a testament to how great the company is.

That’s why so many have landed at La-Z-Boy… and stayed there. Throughout the changes of the past 28 years, the sense of community at La-Z-Boy has stayed strong.

“During this time, we’ve been able to have a wonderful staff of at least 30 employees that have been with us for 20 of those years. Our product is made in the United States right up the road in Dayton, Tennessee.”

Spending more time at home in 2020 and 2021 emphasized how important it is to make our spaces more comfortable. For the families at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama, this is especially true. Families stay at the houses as their children go in and out of the hospital.

“Here at La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, especially in Birmingham, we personally like to focus on Ronald McDonald House Charities. We furnished their house. We love to serve dinners when we can. And we love to support all the families that come to them.”
