Decorating for fall is something I look forward to each year. Beyond lighting seasonally scented candles, there’s so much you can do to warm up your home as the weather cools down. Here are three ways to get your home ready for fall, plus tips from a local interior designer on how to incorporate this season’s trends into your space.

Get your home ready for fall with help from local designers at La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries.

We recently visited La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries of Greystone to catch up with designer Ellen Clark and find out what’s trending in interior design this fall. Here are three ways to cozy-up your home for fall, plus trendy pieces you can shop locally at La-Z-Boy of Birmingham.

1. Focus on wellness by creating quiet rooms

How amazing does a designated quiet room sound? Now more than ever, it’s imperative to have a place to unplug and feel relaxed. Start with a cozy piece of furniture like a sectional or recliner and add elements that bring calming energy to your space.

An easy way to make any furniture piece feel instantly inviting is to add comforting accents. Add cuddly throws and pillows to a large sectional, or muted vases with plants to a nearby table to take the zen to the next level.

2. Bring the outside in with natural textures

As the weather cools down and you spend more time inside, you’ll probably start missing the outdoors. The solution? Bring the outside in with touches of texture and natural fibers. La-Z-Boy has a great selection of pieces that feel earthy like wicker lamps and crochet poofs.

They even have console tables that resemble natural textures like burlap and wicker but offer a more elevated look for a sophisticated space.

3. Look for sustainable pieces with character

Sustainable furniture is at the forefront of fall trends. And La-Z-Boy offers a few different sustainable furniture options including pieces made from reclaimed teak, oak and elm, as well as root ball coffee and side tables. With a rustic wooden base and sleek glass top, these conversation pieces will bring character and charm to any room they live in.
