Whether you’re looking for loft living in the heart of downtown or an off-the-grid getaway in the woods, Birmingham offers impressive Airbnbs for those staycations. Here are some to check out. Psst! I even included a little itinerary for each location just for you.

Some of the dopest, top-rated Airbnbs in Bham

Artful, modern home on the Rotary Trail

The deets:

  • 7 guests | 4 beds | 2 baths
  • 4.97-star rating
  • Starts at $425/night

What to do: This stellar Airbnb is right on the Rotary Trail so it only makes sense to start the day off with a morning stroll. If you’re staying here during the weekend, you can take the trail straight to The Market at Pepper Place—one of my personal favorite spots for all things local. Honestly, I could spend the entire day enjoying the rooftop patio with some of the best views of the city.

Stylish Studio on Historic Morris Avenue

The deets:

  • 2 guests | 1 bed | 1 bath
  • 5-star rating
  • Starts at $89/night

What to do: If you book this spot, congrats! You’re staying on one of the most Instagram-worthy streets in Birmingham. Go on a self-guided walking tour of Morris Avenue. But first, grab peanuts from Alabama Peanut Co. for a little snack. I know what you’re thinking. Peanuts? Trust me—their flavors go beyond your typical ballpark snack.

Then take a quick little trip to Europe as you enjoy lunch on The Essential‘s patio. After relaxing a bit, finish the night with drinks at Cayo Coco—a bar and restaurant inspired by Cuban and Latin flavors.

Serene Getaway in Avondale

The deets:

  • 5 guests | 2 beds | 1 bath
  • 4.92-star rating
  • Starts at $86/night

What to do: This 1950’s bungalow is in a prime location. Located between Avondale and Crestwood, you’re bound to be in foodie paradise. After spending a relaxing morning sipping coffee on the porch, walk over to Tropicaleo to grab a bite—and yes, there are even options for vegans. If you manage to escape a food coma, a few steps through their patio area will take you straight to the front door of Cahaba Brewing Company.

The Rail Yard Loft on Morris, Downtown Birmingham

The deets:

  • 5 guests | 2 beds | 2 baths
  • Superhost
  • Starts at $210/night

What to do: Another Morris Avenue loft made it to the list but after one look at the pictures, there’s no way I couldn’t include this one. This one is giving me major New York City vibes. To match the Airbnb’s luxurious style, use this staycation to treat yo’ self. Check out the boutiques on Morris, including basic and Honeycreeper Chocolate. If you’re in the mood to drop some money, head over to The Summit where you’re bound to find a store you adore.

Cozy townhouse between Lakeview + Forest Park

The deets:

  • 4 guests | 3 beds | 1.5 baths
  • 4.9-star rating
  • Starts at $84/night

What to do: This cozy abode is perfect for the entire family. It’s like home…just away from home. Dad’s probably going to want to play a few holes on the Highlands Golf Course across the street. While he’s out living his PGA Tour dreams, you’re a short walk away from one of my fave areas in town—Forest Park. Within the same block of this cozy neighborhood, you can go thrift shopping at Zoe’s, grab some gifts (for yourself) at Dreamers Supply Co and most likely leave with a new house plant from Shoppe. Last stop of the day? The Rougaroux, of course. You aren’t going to find authentic Cajun food like this anywhere else in Birmingham.

Modern Industrial Downtown Loft

The deets:

  • 2 guests | 1 bed | 1 bath
  • 5-star rating
  • Starts at $105/night

What to do: Straight off the pages of Architectural Digest, this Airbnb puts you in the heart of Downtown. Depending on your mood, you can take a stroll down the beautiful 2nd Avenue North. Make sure your taste buds are ready because this street will soon be the new restaurant row. You’ll run into tons of inspiring murals so make sure you’re camera-ready. If you’re looking to escape the heat, McWane Science Center just reopened their doors and yes, adults can have just as much fun as the kids.

Stunning Mediterranean Villa in Highland Park

The deets:

  • 2 guests | 1 bed | 1 bath
  • 4.85-star rating
  • Starts at $66/night

What to do: If you’ve been dying to escape to Europe, I’m right there with you! As traveling plans go, this villa in Highland Park will do the trick. You probably won’t even need your car for this staycation. Highland Park is walkable and a dream for those obsessed with historic houses. Your hardest decision is probably deciding where to eat. You’re steps away from restaurants like EATS Highland, Rojo, Bottega and Galley & Garden.

Lake Martin Escape

The deets:

  • 10 guests | 5 beds | 5.5 baths
  • 5-star rating
  • Starts at $650/night

What to do: Let’s face it. Alabama in the summer requires at least one trip to the lake or beach. If lake life is calling your name, this Airbnb is perfect for you. About a 2-hour drive outside of Birmingham, this lake is perfect for some fun in the sun, including swimming, boating, water skiing and fishing. You can even visit Goat Island. Yes, it is a real place and it’s exactly what you’re picturing in your head—a heard of free-roaming goats.

Remote, off-grid tiny home in Kimberly

The deets:

  • 6 guests | 3 beds | 1 bath
  • 5-star rating
  • Starts at $99/night

What to do: Need some time to completely unplug? We all could use some time to recharge our batteries. This quaint, solar-powered, tiny home is just 30 minutes outside of Birmingham. This 400-square-foot cabin was built by hand and sits on the banks of Locust Fork River. As for things to do? That’s up to you. The whole experience of living at this eco-retreat is an adventure in itself.

Glass Treehouse in Hayden

The deets:

  • 5 guests | 3 beds | 1 bath
  • 4.85-rating
  • Starts at $225/night

What to do: I’m getting Twilight vibes from this glass tree house. Nestled in the forest on the banks of the Locust Fork River, this Airbnb embodies a relaxing nature retreat. Wake up to insane views of the sun rising and spend the day enjoying private waterfalls and swimming holes. It’s the perfect place to just take it easy.
