The Daily Meal is a national news and media brand that covers all things food and drink. They cover restaurants, recipes, chefs, food trends, guides and more from all over the world.

Since no one’s traveling around this year to try a brew in every state, they put together a list of The Best Beer in Every State to Pickup This Father’s Day using craft beer enthusiast reviews online.

“While there are many great local breweries in every state, to determine the best spot to get something to-go for your father, we used CraftBeer.com’s state-by-state list of breweries that are offering beer to-go and found the brewery with the highest rating on Untappd.”

The winner in Alabama? Ferus Artisan Ales located right here in Trussville. We got a sneak peek when they opened last fall and have been fans ever since. Here are the details:

Don’t miss these brews:

Fallen: Raspberry | Sour – Fruited Gose | 5.5% ABV

Ursa Imperial Milk Stout | Imperial Stout | 8% ABV

Hoppy Blonde | Blonde Ale | 5% ABV

They’re always launching different special edition and small-batch brews, so be sure to grab a classic + a fun one.

Birmingham’s beer scene continues to turn heads from all over the nation. Want to try them all? Check out our ultimate guide to Birmingham Breweries. We visited 8 craft breweries across our Magic City and reported back on what we found.

Of course, spending a Saturday at one of our local beer hotspots looks a bit different these days. Ferus is no exception. Their outdoor patio offers plenty of space to social distance, and don’t worry—they have huge fans and 20 beers on tap to keep you cool.

Not up for hanging out? No problem. You can order food + beer online here and pick it up curbside. Happy Hour, here you come.

Trussville Keeps it Coming

“Ferus” is Latin for feral, and the name is derived from their passion for brewing sour beers and its connection to wild yeast that is used during fermentation. Photo via Jacob Blankenship for Bham Now

We love watching Trussville grow… and grow, and grow. It’s quickly on its way to becoming one of the hippest hotspots in Central AL for beer, entertainment, food and more.

Ferus Ales is located in the heart of the new Trussville Entertainment District. With a live music stage, a great outdoor space and a whole lot of other fun stuff, you know where to find us this summer.
