United Ability will host their annual celebration, Journey of Hope, this August 3. This year’s honoree will be Ed Robinson—longtime board member and President of HRH Metals in Moody, Alabama.
The event will also feature a musical performance by Brian King Joseph, a finalist from season 13 of America’s Got Talent.

The Birmingham Holocaust Education Center will be holding their annual fundraiser, L’Chaim, this August. L’Chaim (“to life”) is a celebration honoring Alabama’s Holocaust survivors and their families.
The event will also include special musical entertainment from The Magic Shtetl Klezmer Band and a dessert reception following the program.

Sidewalk Film Festival
Movie buffs get ready, it’s almost time for the 21st Annual Sidewalk Film Festival.
During this exciting yearly event, Downtown Birmingham will transform into an exciting production of films, parties, food and special events.

Dragon Boat Festival
You hear that? It’s the beat of dragon boats gliding into Birmingham for our city’s first ever Dragon Boat Race and Festival.
Benefitting Mitchell’s Place, an inclusive accredited preschool and outpatient clinic that specializes in improving the lives of children (and their families) affected by autism and other developmental disabilities.
During this exciting event, expect:
- Dragon boat races.
- A kids zone with face painting, a rock wall and paddle boarding.
- The Merchants Market featuring a variety of local vendors providing everything from art to food.
- Music from Birmingham Mountain Radio.

Dinner in the Streets

Centered around a chicken wing cook off, this exciting event benefits The Literacy Council’s programs—adult literacy, family literacy, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and GED preparation.

Vegas takes over Trussville during Trussvegas on August 10. And this is sure to be one event you won’t want to miss!
