Good news, all you suburbians of Birmingham, AL. A long-time local favorite, Carrigan’s Public House, is opening a new location in Mountain Brook later this year! We’ve got all the details here.

Located on historic Morris Avenue, Carrigan’s Public House was one of the first bars to open in this area of downtown. Its wide selection of drinks and casual atmosphere have made it a popular spot for a while, now— not to mention they whip up some pretty incredible food! Example: the iconic corndogs.

Just a quick scroll through their Instagram will have your mouth watering in no time.

Carrigan’s has landed on more than one of Bham Now’s lists of favorites, including our rooftop bars in Birmingham as well as our recent guide to downtown bars.

Moving or Expanding?

Not to worry, downtown patrons— the Morris Ave. location isn’t going anywhere! Owner David Carrington plans to open a new Carrigan’s Pub over the mountain— Mountain Brook Village, to be exact.

The New Location

Find the new Carrigan’s spot at 2400 Montevallo Road.

The new Carrigan’s Pub will be opening in the former location of Dram Whiskey Bar, which closed earlier this week. Abhi is located upstairs, although the two businesses will have separate entrances.

Your New Favorite Weeknight Spot

A huge perk of this new location is that if you live in Homewood, Mountain Brook, Hoover, or Vestavia, you don’t have to trek downtown to enjoy a Carrigan’s cocktail! Mid-week Happy Hour, anyone?

The current plan is for the new location to open at the end of October or early November at the latest— and we’re ready for it!

As always, stay tuned to Bham Now for the latest and greatest in Birmingham news!
