Today is perhaps one of the busiest Spring weekends of sporting events in recent memory here in Birmingham. Grand Prix racing, football, soccer, hockey and yes… even College basketball’s Final Four.

The Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama presented by AmFirst  at Barber Motorsports Park, today, April 6 to Sunday, April 7 is more than IndyCar Racing. There is a Fanfest, Grand Art Show and even a Ferris wheel. It is one of Birmingham’s can’t miss weekend events for the entire family.

And the racing? Best in the world.

See the C-USA Conference 2018 Football Champions back in action Saturday, April 6, 1:00 at Legion Field. Now called the Pepsi Spring Game, UAB will give us all a sneak peek of the 2019 version of the Blazers.

Birmingham Vulcans Rugby

Today is match day for our beloved Birmingham Vulcans Rugby Club. At 2:00 pm they are taking on New Orleans at Ramsay Park. If you have never seen a a rugby match, this Saturday, April 6th will be a great opportunity to learn the sport and become part of our Vulcans which has been operating as a club since 1967.

AND – of course it is rugby. After the match, there will be a social at Zydecos (appropriate since we are playing New Orleans) after the match.

Birmingham Legion FC

The Birmingham Legion FC defeated the defending USL champions last week and scored their first 3 goals in franchise history. They return home today and play the Red Bulls II team from NYC.

Worried you are going to miss the Auburn Final Four Basketball game?  Watch the game outside with Legion FC in the Plaza at 5:00.  They are opening the Plaza early to accommodate fans. Then at 7:00, cheer on our “men in black.” What a great doubleheader!

Our Birmingham Bulls just clinched 2nd place in the SPHL.  Tonight, April 6th is their last 2019 regular season game before the playoffs against the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs.

What better way to build momentum for the playoffs that packing the Pelham Civic Center tonight!

Auburn Basketball Final Four

Everyone in the state of Alabama will be glued to their televisions at 5:00pm today to watch Auburn University’s first ever College Basketball Final Four appearance. There every sports bars show in town is showing the game, including some of our favorites like Iron City.

If you are an Auburn alum, the official Alumni Association gathering place is Good People Brewery.  Btw – get that roll of toilet paper ready…. War Eagle.
