H2 Real Estate and The Dobbins Group are teaming up to create Avenue A Townhomes—a new residential development that will bring luxury to urban living in downtown Birmingham.

Location

Where will the development be located exactly? Along The Rotary Trail.

The Rotary Trail opened in April 2016 to much anticipation and excitement to those in Birmingham. The trail, which stretches from 20th St. to 24th St. is a half-mile long. Its entrance is marked by the 46-foot-tall sign which reads: “Rotary Trail in the Magic City”.

Avenue A Townhomes will be constructed adjacent to The Rotary Trail along 1st Ave S. near the end of the walkway where it connects with the Jones Valley Trail.

Must-Know Features

There have already been a few new residential developments to hit the downtown area in the past year, such as New Deal Lofts. Why another residential development?

According to H2 Real Estate Agent Lynlee Hughes,

“While demand for inventory downtown continues to rise, the variety of options available tends to target one type of buyer.” Avenue A Townhomes is hoping to offer something different.

The development will include 28 townhomes featuring two and three bedroom layouts.

There will boast some pretty cool elements, too. For example, they will feature amenities that are currently difficult to find in Birmingham’s downtown, such as private garages and rooftop deck space—two things that H2 Real Estate Realtor Lynlee Hughes said “will attract empty nesters and buyers looking for spacious downtown living without losing the comfort offered in the suburbs.”

How much will a townhome at Avenue A cost you? Depending on which one you choose, the price is expected to run between $439,900 and $779,900.

Architecture and Interior Design

Behind the architecture and interior design of Avenue A Townhomes will be Nequette Architecture, an award-winning design firm specializing in high-end residential planning.  The company most recently worked on The Thomas, another new development located on 2nd Ave N. that includes roomy loft apartments, offices and commercial real estate.

What will Avenue A Townhomes bring to downtown Birmingham?

“Avenue A Townhomes will bring a new type of urban living and diversity of product choice to Birmingham” said Louis Nequette of Nequette Architecture. “The design—strong, simple, masonry buildings with urban flat roofs and lots of glass—plays off of the industrial influence in Birmingham.”

Move In

When can you move in? The townhouses are expected to be completed by late 2019.
