Oh, and he’s already gushed about our hospitality:

Just think. You and your Alabama-grown vegetables, artisan goods, tasty treats and local meats could be a crowd star!

Unfortunately, my glam squad is unavailable to prepare me for my closeup Saturday morning, so I’m relying on your Zimmern selfies and photo bombs to brighten my weekend.

Why Pepper Place?

Executive Director for the Market at Pepper Place, Leigh Sloss-Corra, said that Zimmern is scheduled to shop for produce with Highlands Bar and Grill Executive Chef Frank Stitt on Saturday morning.

More Zimmern, Please

In 2013, Zimmern visited more than a few Birmingham restaurants for his show “Bizarre Foods America.”

In Season 2 of “Bizarre Foods” Zimmern ate his way through our fair city, stopping at spots like the Peanut Depot, along with other local food establishments where he “discovers surprising Southern fare like bullfrog hearts with pea shoots and Greek grits that will make you slap your mama.”

In 2016 he spotlighted us again for “Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations.”

This week Zimmern returned to some of the restaurants from his previous visits. He’s already made stops at Eagle’s Restaurant, Highlands Bar and Grill, Miss Myra’s Pit Bar-B-Q, OvenBird and Saw’s Juke Joint.
