Fall might be dragging its feet weather-wise, but Birmingham’s coffee shops aren’t waiting around — pumpkin, apple, maple and spice have officially taken over menus across the city. From housemade syrups to seven-drink lineups, local shops are going all in on the season.

If you’re like us and have zero self-control when a fall menu drops, here’s a roundup of greater Birmingham coffee shops and what’s brewing this season.


1. Cala Coffee

Cala Coffee might take the prize for for the most creative seasonal menu items. The cute and cozy shops in downtown Bham, Vestavia Hills and Mountain Brook pair perfectly with a warm (or iced) latte in hand.

2. The Red Cat Coffee House

Red Cat has specialty lattes that are the perfect blend of sweet and refreshing without masking the flavor of the coffee — and this fall lineup is no exception.

4. Daysol

Daysol’s roastery-meets-cafe space near Pepper Place is one of Birmingham’s newest coffee destinations, and their fall menu leans into housemade syrups across the board.

Seeds’ Homewood location has a huge outdoor area that’s perfect for sipping a fall drink while the weather (finally) cools off.

7. Pink Lantern Coffee + Bar

8. O’Henry’s

O’Henry’s has been roasting coffee in Birmingham since 1993, and their “Ready For Fall” lineup brings back a longtime favorite under a new name.

9. Prevail Coffee

Prevail’s downtown cafe on the ground floor of Shipt Tower rolled out a fall lineup that leans into family recipes as much as pumpkin spice.

  • PSL — their take on a classic Pumpkin Spice Latte, made with housemade pumpkin sauce from real pumpkin puree and a blend of pumpkin pie seasonings

16. Ladybird Taco

It’s still 90 degrees out, but Ladybird’s Mountain Brook location is doing its part to bring on fall. They also just dropped a Goodbird Bowl with eggs, sweet potato, beans, pickled onions, avocado, salsa macha and microgreens, also on the fall menu!
