Fall might be dragging its feet weather-wise, but Birmingham’s coffee shops aren’t waiting around — pumpkin, apple, maple and spice have officially taken over menus across the city. From housemade syrups to seven-drink lineups, local shops are going all in on the season.
If you’re like us and have zero self-control when a fall menu drops, here’s a roundup of greater Birmingham coffee shops and what’s brewing this season.

1. Cala Coffee
Cala Coffee might take the prize for for the most creative seasonal menu items. The cute and cozy shops in downtown Bham, Vestavia Hills and Mountain Brook pair perfectly with a warm (or iced) latte in hand.

4. Daysol
Daysol’s roastery-meets-cafe space near Pepper Place is one of Birmingham’s newest coffee destinations, and their fall menu leans into housemade syrups across the board.

Seeds’ Homewood location has a huge outdoor area that’s perfect for sipping a fall drink while the weather (finally) cools off.

Santos’ many locations across Birmingham give you ample opportunity to find your favorite spot and order off their chalkboard fall menu. Coffee aside, you should try the crepes!

O’Henry’s has been roasting coffee in Birmingham since 1993, and their “Ready For Fall” lineup brings back a longtime favorite under a new name.

9. Prevail Coffee
Prevail’s downtown cafe on the ground floor of Shipt Tower rolled out a fall lineup that leans into family recipes as much as pumpkin spice.

- PSL — their take on a classic Pumpkin Spice Latte, made with housemade pumpkin sauce from real pumpkin puree and a blend of pumpkin pie seasonings
- Chaider — chai + apple cider
- Miss Jaunice — a Jamaican-inspired carrot punch (named for Miss Jaunice Lauder) with sweetened condensed milk and espresso, iced only

10. Daily Buzz Coffee
Tucked into the Historic Harris Building downtown, Daily Buzz brews with fresh spring water — and their fall tray is stacked with cozy classics.

Baba Java is another locally-owned shop with a few locations across Greater Birmingham, and their fall menu brings back returning favorites plus one brand-new latte.

12. Bayt Al Qahwah
Bayt Al Qahwah’s Yemeni coffee shop in Homewood is one of the few spots in town with late-night hours, and their new fall menu is worth a trip after dark.

Birmingham Breadworks’ Autumn Specials board pairs cozy lattes with equally cozy food — don’t skip the Powell Ave Power Oatmeal on your way out.

14. Maple Avenue Coffee House
Maple Avenue’s “Fall is Brewing” menu is worth the drive out to Trussville, with drinks that go a little further off the pumpkin-spice beaten path.

Homewood’s Daily Edition is the Instagram-worthy coffee shop of our dreams, and their fall drops have a signature playful streak.

It’s still 90 degrees out, but Ladybird’s Mountain Brook location is doing its part to bring on fall. They also just dropped a Goodbird Bowl with eggs, sweet potato, beans, pickled onions, avocado, salsa macha and microgreens, also on the fall menu!
