Lakeshore’s Amazing Race presented by Balch & Bingham LLP, Portfolio Recovery Associates, Vulcan Materials Company and more is 2 days away! Here’s the link to register a team for Lakeshore Foundation’s Amazing Race—one of Birmingham’s most beloved fundraising events on Saturday, June 2, from 8 a.m to 12 p.m.

It’s the 10th anniversary edition of a very interactive community event, a fun race where teams push their limits a bit and challenge themselves. It’s all about sharing the message that physical achievement is a possibility for everyone.

“The Amazing Race is one of my favorite community outreach activities of the year that helps introduce the entire Lakeshore Foundation Campus and all it offers to our community,” said Nick Cotumaccio, a past race participant.

“It provides fun and interactive events that help build awareness of the capabilities of people with disabilities. My entire family has participated in the event, and we look forward to it each year. Keep up the great work!”

The Details

Lakeshore’s Amazing Race is a popular and successful community event hosted by Lakeshore Foundation’s Junior Board. The event is a unique blend of fundraising and outreach to encourage community involvement and disability awareness.

Participants race in teams of four to complete fun and interactive challenges. These challenges are set up throughout Lakeshore’s 45-acre campus and are specifically designed to promote the programs and resources available at Lakeshore.

“Come celebrate ten years of Lakeshore’s Amazing Race with a friendly competition and physical fitness,” said Lakeshore’s Junior Board President, Eric Hess.

“If you’ve never been to Lakeshore, this is a great way to learn about everything we offer our members. You can participate by becoming a sponsor or registering a team or both!”

Registration Is Easy
  • Individual teams: Entry fee is $300 ($75 per person) for a team of four.
  • Team members must be at least seven years old.
  • Corporate teams: Entry fee is $500 for a team of four.

Your participation this Saturday helps Lakeshore continue to help our community through a combination of sports, recreation, advocacy and research. The foundation is all about making sure everyone is able to get fit and have a good time.
